2026 Thornbury Farmers' Market Application

2026  Market Dates and Hours: Sundays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. from May 17, 2026 to October 11, 2026

Thornbury Farmers’ Market (TFM) Overview:  Oversight of the TFM is provided by a volunteer Steering Committee which is comprised of market vendors.  We also utilize the services of a Market Manager who is responsible for the daily operations. The TFM places a strong emphasis on locally grown/produced/ handmade goods.  The market is a member of the Farmers’ Markets of Ontario (FMO).

Vendor Selection:  The TFM is curated.  Vendor acceptance is based on:

  • Returning vendors in good standing - Unpaid fees from prior years disqualify applicants

  • Full-season vendors vs. occasional weekly vendors

  • If selling food considered “potentially hazardous(page 19) by Grey Bruce Public Health, an inspection report from your local health unit will be required

Other selection criteria include but is not limited to the following:

  • Local and organically grown, produced, or handcrafted products

  • The uniqueness of product offerings

The TFM does not grant vendor or product exclusivity, ensuring a diverse mixed while considering market share. The steering committee finalizes the lineup, and a farm inspection may be required.

Key Market Rules:

  • Vendors must be set up and prepared to serve customers by 10 a.m.  Late arrivals are disruptive to the flow of the market.

  • Vendors cannot drive on market grounds to offload.  There are neighbouring parking lots so vendors are required to transport their goods and gear.

  • Vendors must inform the market manager if they can’t attend - advance notice is preferred. Three un-notified absences may result in removal, and no refund will be available.

  • At least 75% of products offered at individual booths must vendor-produced (higher percentage is encouraged). Selling for another business (≤25%) requires prior approval.

  • Vendors must provide their own tent and table. Rentals may be available for an additional fee. Vendors must also bring their own tent pegs & weight (both 1/tent leg). No weights, no set-up.

  • Generators are available for an additional fee (see below). Personal generators must be low noise, fume-free, and approved in advance for placement in a designated area.

  • Food vendors must comply with Grey Bruce Health Unit regulations, including permits. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in removal from the market with no refund available.

Not Required
